At more than a thought we run small creative therapeutic groups in nature for young people and their families.

We work with young people aged 12 through to 21, as we recognise the importance of transition. We also provide a therapeutic space for families. Young people could be presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma or OCD - please note, the service is not limited to these presentations and welcomes all referrals to be triaged by our team of experienced clinicians.

We are a team of qualified mental health professionals and therapists with experience working within mental health services within schools, the community and urgent care settings. We support reintegration into society, including school and other academic settings, provide a setting for young people to foster new friendships, support sustainable change through our whole family approach, and build lifelong skills.

At More Than a Thought, we understand that our mental health, and that of our children, is shaped by the world around us — family, friends, community, and the places we spend time.
That’s why our support goes beyond traditional therapy rooms. Our permanent green space offers a safe, welcoming, and nurturing setting to take part in a range of activities, connecting with others, participating in outdoor and indoor therapy sessions, creative projects and fun.

We believe that families and the community are crucial in a young person’s development and wellbeing, The young person cannot thrive in isolation.
We work closely with parents, carers, and support networks, making sure that no one is left to face challenges alone. We recognise the pressures, stress and deep fears that some parents experience and offer a safe place to share this with professionals and fellow parents.

We don’t turn anyone away because of risk – instead, we partner with the whole family to create practical, personalised plan, focusing on safety and emotional support.
If you’re looking for something more than a service – a community rooted in nature and personal challenge, built on relationships, and shaped by your unique needs – then More Than a Thought is here for you. Together, we can help the young person and you, to feel seen, heard, and empowered to thrive.
